  3.             MAKING AN ASCII FILE USING Q&A WORD PROCESSOR

  7. 1. From Q&A Main Menu select <WRITE> and press <Enter> key.
  8. 2. From the Write Menu select <MAILING LABELS> and press <Enter> Key.
  9. 3. From List Of Mailing Labels select <3 1/2 X 15/16 -1 Up> & <Enter>.
  10. 4. A Blank Label will appear on the screen. Format the Label the same   
  11.    as if you were going to print out the Labels such as:

  20. 5. Press <F2> Key for Mailing Label Print Options and format as shown.

  22.                a. <0> Print Offset.
  23.                b. <Disk> Print to disk.
  24.                c. <Continuous>
  25.                d. <1> Label Across.
  26.                e. <0> Space between labels.
  27.                f. <6> Lines per label sheet.
  28.                g. <0> Blank lines at top.
  29.                h. <0> Blank lines at bottom.
  30.                i. Enter Printer control codes if any.
  31.                j. Enter Name of Q&A Merge File.

  33. 6. Press <F10> to continue.
  34. 7. Select <IBM ASCII Format>.
  35. 8. Name your Ascii File such as:  LABEL.ASC
  36. 9. If you want the Ascii File Sorted then press <F8> and enter a Sort   
  37.    Spec or skip this prompt.
  38. 10.Press <F9>. Enter a Retreive Spec if you only want certain records 
  39. in the Ascii File or Press <F10> for All Records.

  41. Q&A will now create the Ascii File in the format that Quikzip 
  42. requires. What you have done is formatted a label the same as if you 
  43. were going to print the labels. Instead of printing the labels on the 
  44. printer, Q&A has printed the labels in an Ascii File on Disk. You can 
  45. copy the Ascii File to the Directory or Disk that Quikzip is on or use 
  46. a Path in Quikzip such as C:\QA\LABEL.ASC to print from this file.
